UGPWEB gets upgraded to Dolphin 7!

When UGPWEB first came out it was but a one-page html site. All it

was intended to do, is to tell people "Hey, we are here! - an all-Pinoy

gaming community, and we're looking for you, join us!"

Months later, UGP founders: Metalstrike and DJ Micvince thought- " why

don't we make it ala-myspace.com, so that everybody can sign-in and

be part of our vision." We are YouGotPinoyed.Com and we are seeking

out all Pinoy and non-Pinoy video gamers out there, to bring them

together into one worldwide gaming portal-website.

To achieve that, UGPWEB was then reconstructed. BOONEX's social-

networking website template called Dolphin 6 (D6) was used.Soon,

everyone can now create their own profile accounts, engage into built-in

forums and chatrooms, upload files, music, photos and videos, plus

other perks like making groups, blogs, etc., etc.

It was however not all smooth-sailing and perfect. D6, being in it's

infancy was very "buggy", and UGPWEB's other functions were not

realized as hoped for. The community had to make do with what works

and bear with what does not.

Most of the time, load-up times was too long. D6 was being too much of

a resource-hogger, and the server it was hosted on is just not that

equipped to handle the pressure. Plus UGPWEB also being on the

cheapest hosting package it can afford, can only do as such.

Now, two years later, UGPWEB is moving up to Dolphin7 (D7) and is

now moving as well into a Dolphin-recommended hosting website. With

this, UGPWEB hopes that it can be a little better, if not really "way-

better!"

For starters, response times seems to be faster. The interface design

looks more professional even with just minimal customizations, and

seemingly more functions are available. Other popular features from

Facebook and Twitter can also be easily incorporated into the site..

Some myspace work as well. Users can do almost everything just being

in their own profile pages. They can do blogs, create forum discussions,

hold chatrooms while at the same time view their Facebook friends'

updates and update their twitter or vice versa.

This is an exciting step for UGP and those keeping UGPWEB alive.

However, this is still in its testing stage and still we are yet to see how

everything holds up. For now, we can start exploring, what we can do

with the new innovations and have fun!
